Artist Statement
I am an oil painter working primarily from observation, drawn to landscapes, figures, and the quiet presence of built and natural environments. My work is rooted in direct experience—painting on location, returning to sites over time, and allowing memory to subtly shape what remains on the canvas.After years working in design and illustration, I now focus on painting as a slower, more deliberate practice. Oil paint’s physicality and patience allow space for uncertainty, revision, and attention. I’m interested in places that carry personal or collective history.

Practice & Process
Much of my work begins outdoors through plein air painting, where observation and decision-making happen in real time. These studies often return to the studio, informing larger works and longer explorations. I’m interested in how repetition, revisiting, and physical presence shape both the act of painting and the image itself.
